Buying and selling
Fees, quotes, slippage, refunds and approvals.
Fees
1% of the ETH side of every curve trade, in both directions. It comes out of the ETH you send when buying, or the ETH you receive when selling, and the quote shows it on its own line. Half goes to the muse, half to the protocol.
The quote is the trade
On the curve, Starcurve recomputes the contract’s integer maths in your browser, so the preview is exact. After pooling there’s no closed form, so the quote simulates the swap.
Slippage
Every trade carries a minimum output of the quote minus 1%. If the price moves further than that before your trade lands, it reverts and nothing is spent.
The buy that fills the curve
If your buy is bigger than what’s left, it fills to the last token, charges the fee only on what was spent, refunds the rest in the same transaction, and opens the pool. The trade panel tells you before you sign.
Approvals
Buying never needs one: you send ETH. The first sell of a coin needs a one-time token approval. The form keeps your amount and flips to Sell once it confirms.
